Rapid weight loss plans are all over the market these days. We live in a society where everyone is looking for a quick solution for the challenges in their lives. That is not necessarily always a bad thing, but quick solutions often take more effort and concentration. Losing weight quickly is no different. Look at the show 'The Biggest Loser.' They lose weight very quickly, but they sure do work hard for the pounds that they drop each week.

If you are willing to put a concentrated effort into exercise and sticking to a food plan, you can do the same. A meal replacement diet is one of the best food plans for losing weight quickly and Medifast offers one of the best meal replacement food plans on the market.

Their website offers online support and forums where you can talk to others who have used this program. A meal replacement diet is an eating plan that "replaces" meals with either protein shakes or protein bars. This in itself is not an easy plan that just anyone can follow. Some people cannot deal with not having real food and that is okay, because today you can find a plan that will help you lose weight no matter what your taste is. It just may take you a little longer.

Time is not really what is important here. It is losing the weight and being healthy and that means finding a plan that you can stick with. If you cannot follow the diet you have selected for at least 80% of the time, you will not lose the weight. At that point, it will not matter what kind of a track record the diet has if you can't follow it.

Rapid weight loss plans work best for people that are highly motivated and up for a challenge. This type of weight loss plan also takes planning. If you get hungry, you will have to be prepared something healthy with you to eat. Junk food machines are all too convenient, especially if you are hungry and don't have an alternative available.

So, to answer the question "do rapid weight loss plans work," the answer would have to be "yes." But you get out of something what you put into it and losing weight is no different. If you are willing to put the necessary effort into your weight loss program you can take the pounds of quickly, but keep in mind that you stand a better chance of maintaining your healthy weight if you lose at the rate of 1-2 pounds per week. No matter how fast you take off weight, the important thing is that you find a plan that will work for you and that your plan is safe.
