How To Lose Weight
The famous Chinese saying the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step has helped many to start their major projects. A project can be of any size. If you look at a large project all at once, it will be overwhelming and some times plain discouraging. The key is to break them up into smaller units and daily tasks. Then you look at only the task for today and it is a breeze.
How to lose weight is a large project. It is not going to happen overnight, so what you need to do is to break it up into smaller events. Have an annual goal; break that up into 4-quarter goals. Break each quarter into monthly goals. Break the three months into weekly. Then break the 4-5 weeks into days. Therefore, at a glance you should see only 5 -7 days tasks. In addition, today you are just looking at one task only.
Simple exercise will lead you consistently and surely to lose weight in the end. One of them is just plain walking. Walking has done our ancestors plenty of good. This is not age restrictive. Any one can walk. Walk for about 20-30 minutes every day. Put that in your calendar.
Another simple exercise is swimming. Swimming can be fun and a tremendous exercise. Put that in your calendar as well.
Above all, learn to do simple stretches. Now stretching is necessary for any workout or sport. Why is stretching important. Our bodies among many other things have nerves, tissues, and muscles. These tend to go to sleep over time without activity. So to wake them up and tell them we are going to busy now is called stretching.
Toe to head is first stretch. Just stand on your toes and life your hands above your head. Count to five and let go. Repeat ten times. Next, keep your feet apart and rest your hands on your hips. Turn your torso to the left and right 5 times and repeat the other side from right to left another 5 times.
These three stretches to begin with will get you started and soon it will become a habit. You can add more stretched as time goes by. First, get into the habit of doing it every day.
Diets are good and exercise is better because it enables to the body to perform all the necessary functions. The blood flow is the most essential and only exercise can do that not diets. Many just exercised and lost many pounds without going through any crash diets.
